Mission statement

Rochester Rescue is a small, volunteer-based rescue that re-homes companion animals in need, after providing necessary vet exams, spay/neuter, vaccines, evaluating their temperament, and assessing what types of foster or adoptive homes may be appropriate for the animal.

We work with animal control shelters, other rescues, individuals, and vet clinics who contact us regarding animals in need of re-homing or other services. Educating individuals and the community regarding humane and responsible companion animal care is another focus of Rochester Rescue.

Rochester Rescue primarily works with animals in the greater Rochester community, but occasionally receives and re-homes animals from outside this area, as our resources allow. We are not breed-discriminatory. While we are not a 501(c)3 organization, we do depend on donations from individuals and groups. Our substantial network of individuals and other rescues often links animals in need to people who can provide homes, shelter, or services, thereby alleviating the need for formal placement of the animals in shelters or boarding facilities.

Please feel free to contact us when you have animals who deserve a chance and might otherwise be euthanized due to lack of a home or resources. Though we can’t help them all, we have been very successful re-homing many animals to appropriate, loving, forever homes, as well as providing resources to other animals that would not otherwise receive them.

To contact us, email us at: rescue@rochester-rescue.org, or call 507-753-2866.

Hmmm... that does make a pretty decent mission statement, too.... Amazing what i can come up with in the wee hrs of the morning. I need to get back on track with getting it out to the vet clinics, other rescues, etc. - before motorcycle riding season begins.
